New year, new start

After an incredibly difficult 2023 for a multitude of reasons, I took the decision to return to full-time freelancing in 2024, and have spent the Christmas holidays putting things – including this very website – in place to be able to move forward as a freelance sports writer and media consultant.

Over the course of my career, I’ve gained a huge amount of experience in the sports media industry. I’ve managed the digital sports desks of two national newspapers, was part of the digital team that launched a major UK broadcaster, and I’ve written for a plethora of sports outlets from the UK to the US to the UAE. Additionally, I’ve worked in the betting and gaming industry, where I helped launch and manage the content of the first .com sports betting website in the UK, Ladbrokes.com.

I’ve travelled the world covering some of the biggest events in UFC history, I’ve co-ordinated the digital coverage of the Olympic Games for a major UK media outlet, and I’ve helped establish the coverage of MMA in the UK national media during a time when most of the mainstream media weren’t interested in the sport.

There’s a bit more info about my career on the About page on this site, or you can check out my LinkedIn profile for further details. And if you’re looking for a second opinion, please check out the Home page, where you’ll find a carousel of testimonials from people I’ve worked for, or with, through my career so far. If you’re interested in working with me on an existing or upcoming project, please head to the Contact page and drop me a message.

I’ve already secured some consultancy work to get the ball rolling, and look forward to adding more clients as the year progresses. These things take time, but I’m excited for what 2024 has in store.
